Harsh ocean environments shaped our designs

About

Our Origins

CODA Surf was conceived on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, while our founder sat on a surfboard in the lineup under the mid-morning sun.

His lip was chapped from the salt, and two thoughts hit at once: damn, I forgot to throw my zinc in my pocket, and I would kill for a hat right now.

That was the spark. CODA was born from real needs in real ocean conditions, with designs shaped by salt, wind, glare, and long days on the water.

Brand Story

State Of
Flow

The name CODA comes from the structure of music, the final movement that brings everything together, just like nature's rhythms shape movement in the ocean.

State of Flow comes from the science and psychology term flow state, when focus becomes effortless, distractions fade, and performance feels natural.

A surfer locked into the perfect wave or a kiteboarder landing a huge air. CODA exists to capture that feeling of total presence, when mind and body move together and everything clicks at once.
